HTC Windows Phone 8S

   HTC Windows Phone

Say what you want about the current crop of Windows 8 phones, they're nothing if eye catching. The 4in/10cm 8S continues the fine tradition of HTC's own flagship 8X ,with a two-tone polycarbonate shell andcurved back panel to gush over. It's a shame ,then, that the phone's cheerful exterior is let down on the inside . While Windows Phone 8's colourful live tiles are forgiving at first glance, the low resolution of it's 800x400 screen becomes all too clear when browsing the web ,and games and images look faded next to better screens.Pasable, but HTC have cut costs in the wrong places if you ask me.

The combination of WinPhone 8 and a 1Ghz dual -core chip means that everything seems to take 2-3seconds longer on the 8S than on the Android phones.Apps from the Windows Store are still a let down, with plenty of gaps that are only being filled at a rather slow pace.Theres more bad news for thi Windows 8 phone unfortunately. You won't find lots of useful built-in apps either,as you would with Nokia's latestheadsets. The HTC does have the best battey life here though -around 7.5hours and it;s good for anyone who tendsto stick to the web and social networks.
